The real romantic comedy

Last weekend we watched this movie I remembered from my childhood. I could say how I liked it back in the 90's, but I wanted to watch it again to be sure it wouldn't be one of those things you ask yourself:"What was I thinking?" since I was never really fond of romantic comedies.

But this one.

The movie has that very predictable happy-ending-plot, but this fact doesn't interfere with its successful execution. The story might be too common, but the dialogues are wonderfuly articulate and timeless. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal really click, even playing characters that are opposites. The chemistry between Harry, which is played in a way you love and hate at the same time, and the flawless Sally works so well on screen that ended up making Meg Ryan inherit a whole series of romantic leading roles with better looking hollywood guys. None of those movies were as good as this one, I must say.

Another movie's strength is the soundtrack. Of an impeccable taste and crazy romantic, it makes the movie even more pleasant to watch when combined with the range of scenes involving this very colorful autumn and a beautiful white Christmas time.

Despite of being made in 1989, the movie didn't age a day and it's the real deal when it comes to what romantic comedies should stand for. It does make you feel more romantic, whether full of hope of finding someone special or so glad you found the One for you already - like I did.

*** contains spoilers***
Soooo...We watched this movie called "When Harry Met Sally..." last night. It's a pretty old movie, made in 1989, I think, which basically talks about two people who move from Chicago to New York. They are driving in the same car all 18 hours of the road, arguing. In New York they decide to not see or communicate with each other. So the movie focuses on their personal lives, which seem to be going quite well for about 5 years, until they realize that the person they love and live with does not love them back. Then they start seeing each other often, but as friends. Movie ends with them getting married. DUH! :) The plot is pretty simple, but this movie is quite enjoyable because of the characters. Both Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) are very good and fit their roles perfectly. They are both very talkative, kinda full of themselves in a good way, and at times ridiculously funny. Take this scene for example. Actually that's how Leela got me interested in this movie. It's nice to watch this movie with your bf/gf, because it shows you how hard it is to find the right person, and hopefully the person you are watching it with is that person. It makes you appreciate your bond. At least that's what I felt watching it.

And 20 fingers

So....I really have no idea what to write here, but my baby is asking me to, so I guess I should...Hm...So...What should I write? Dunno, all I can say is that lately my days are always bright, and the name of the reason is E. With her I always feel good and happy, even if something went wrong on that day. Also, creating this blog page took like 2123123243 hours (mainly because it took us very long to find a perfect picture), but we both like it now, so it's good.

The end (of the beginning)

Four hands

Being seriously committed to someone is a whole new event for me. This thing of starting a sentence that he will certainly finish correctly is like another dimension, one I've never dreamed of seeing - Ok, maybe I did, but I didn't believe it anymore. Anyway, the world has turned and here we are.
This blog is another thing we share. A four hands made blog. It might take us forever to decide on something that will be perfect for both, but in the end it always is.
